Only a select few are lucky enough to turn these dreams into realities. Some become professional baseball players, basketball players or football players, etc. Some of these athletes go onto to become coaches rather than play the game. Starting a coaching basketball career involves knowledge of the game of basketball as well as the education required to become a basketball coach. Some coaches start as high school coaches or just high school basketball players. Others go through their school years playing the sport of basketball with no thoughts whatsoever of "how can I start a coaching basketball career"? Later, they decide coaching is what they want to do with the game of basketball. Many times basketball players decided to coach after they retire from the game.
