What Are Recruitment Agencies?
from: www.CareerExposed.comBoth employers and employment candidates have learned over the last few years that the best way to find an employee or an employer is to search through recruitment agencies. Recruitment agencies offer a myriad of possibilities to both potential employees and employers: information about job trends, communication facilitation, and skills matching; these things were previously either unavailable to job seekers and employers or they were not as obvious as they needed to be. In either case, recruitment agencies have successfully gained popularity for their ability to provide these important services to companies and job candidates worldwide.
The ability of recruitment agencies to provide important information about job trends to potential job candidates is an enormous help for many reasons. Statistics about the labor market in specific areas and the rate of employment versus the rate of unemployment in any given city or state can be enormously helpful both to a job seeker and to an employer. For potential employees, it provides information about what types of jobs are available in an area and what skills sets would be fit into a particular city's employment fabric. Employers learn how much competition there might be for a vacancy and how likely it is of finding another, more qualified, candidate.
Another benefit of using recruitment agencies is the ability of the agency to correctly and effectively match candidate skills sets to a job. For example, a job candidate who has excellent typing skills and computer skills, but little customer service experience may be better matched with a career in data entry rather than as a receptionist. While the candidate and employer may not realize the candidate is not a good match until too late, recruiters will be able to identify potential problems before they happen.
The advent of recruitment agencies has brought a lot of people to their proper jobs. But the increasing use of the internet to access information about employment trends and job searches has brought up some skepticism about the future of recruitment agencies. However, people still continue to seek out recruiters to assist their job search. It has been postulated that this trend has arisen because recruitment agencies have become more specialized. Recruiters will often on deal with one particular career in one specific job market, like the health industry in Boston, Massachusetts. This creates a recruitment agency that is very qualified to place employees with companies because the recruiters are already intimately familiar with both the candidates and the companies. This specialization leads directly to personalization of an industry whose only rival is the impersonal void of the internet.
